Good for you! I can relate to so much of this. I left 25 years of marriage behind, not all of it bad and that’s probably what tricked me into staying longer than I should have. Like you, it was one final episode of violence that pushed me out the door. My kids were adults though they still lived at home, witnesses to and in the middle of every unsavory episode. You never realize the damage to your mental and physical health until you’re out of that situation. Blessings to you and yours, it will only get better from here. I’ve been divorced nine years, got married last year to the love of my life.
