Good advice, I have to remember just because certain aspects of Medium mimic traditional publishing, it is first a social media site. And despite all the posts promising money and fame by writing on Medium, there’s limited potential here based on the number of writers alone. That five dollars a month only goes so far when it’s spread out, like a pyramid scheme it will eventually require more and more folks to sign up. I’m not saying Medium will fail, just that the type of writing that will flourish here will be that which appeals to the popular opinion. I’m saving myself some stress by abandoning the stats, which I agree are solely a measure of popularity and not quality.
